The Houston Astros’ streak of seven consecutive American League Championship appearances ended in 2024.
Finishing with an 88-73 record and winning the American League West, the Astros were swept by the Detroit Tigers in the wild-card series.
The Astros enter the offseason uncertain about the future of their All-Star third baseman, Alex Bregman.
Bregman is a free agent this offseason, and MLB analyst Chris Jimenez revealed the team he believes is the best fit for Bregman.
“I’ll always look at him as a Houston star,” Jimenez said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.

Bregman entered the league in 2016 with the Astros and has spent all nine seasons of his MLB career with the organization.
Jimenez believes Bregman should remain an Astro and cement his legacy as one of the best Astros players of all time.
In 2024, Bregman played 145 games and hit .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI and a .768 OPS.
The Astros organization has been a dynasty over the past eight seasons as they have made seven straight ALCS appearances along with two World Series titles.
Bregman has been one of the focal points for the Astros this past season, and Jimenez believes that’s enough for the organization to offer him another contract.
Although the Astros lost the wild-card series in 2024, the team has won four straight American League West titles and will try to make it five in a row in 2025.
Bregman is a name to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
