After an eighth straight trip to the playoffs, the Houston Astros lost for the first time before appearing in the ALCS, beating the Detroit Tigers in the wild-card round.
Now, one of the Astros’ stars is set to test free agency after playing his entire career in a Houston uniform.
Analyst Eduardo Perez said he’s confident in where Bregman will sign before the 2025 season.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Alex Bregman comes back to Houston,” Perez said via SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.
Is it? @Astros: bring alex bregman back or does the free agent 3B land somewhere else?

Perez said Bregman has roots in Houston that include having children growing up in the area.
Bregman has made the playoffs every season of his MLB career, and Perez apparently thinks he could be a lifetime prospect.
This season, Bregman hit .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI and a .768 OPS.
Some teams Perez believes Bregman could suit up for include the Tigers, New York Mets and Boston Red Sox.
It will be interesting to see how Bregman approaches the offseason as it becomes clear what his thought process might be about where he wants to play next season and beyond.
Although Perez believes Bregman will be back in an Astros uniform, players often surprise people with their decision.
The Astros would likely like to bring back Bregman as he has been a staple in their lineup for many seasons, but it will likely come down to money in the end.
