The San Francisco Giants missed the postseason for the third straight year, finishing with an 80-82 record.
After winning three World Series titles in a five-year span from 2010-2014, the Giants have only made the postseason twice since.
In a division that includes the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Giants will need to make some moves this offseason to stay competitive in the National League West.
While much of the focus is on free agent Juan Soto, MLB analyst Jeff Joyce has broken down where he thinks the top free agent player will sign.
“If the Giants pay him the most money, that’s probably where Corbin Burns would go,” Joyce said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.

Burns is a 30-year-old starter who entered the league in 2018 with the Milwaukee Brewers.
After playing the first six seasons of his career with the Brewers, Burns played the 2024 season with the Baltimore Orioles.
In 2024, Burns started 32 games for the Orioles and posted a 15-9 record with a 2.92 ERA and 181 strikeouts in 194.1 innings.
Joyce believes Burns will sign with the Giants if they offer him the maximum money to replace starter Blake Snell, who signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in free agency this offseason.
The Giants will try to win their first NL West title since 2021 and win their first World Series title since 2014.
It will be interesting to see if Joyce’s prediction holds true and if Burns signs with the Giants.
The Giants will need all the help they can get to keep pace with the Dodgers, who remain aggressive this offseason.
