The 2024 Major League Baseball season officially ended when the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series.
As the postseason excitement winds down, the Tides will head into the offseason, where there appears to be plenty of excitement to come.
Most MLB offseasons involve players changing teams when they become free agents.
The biggest name to become a free agent in 2025 is probably Yankees star Juan Soto.
One MLB analyst recently named a team on the radar that could land Soto this offseason.
“I could see the (Baltimore) Orioles being one of these secret teams that could get Soto,” Chris Russo said, via MLB Network.

The most likely team to sign Soto would appear to be the Yankees, but Russo calls the Orioles a dark horse team that could offer the necessary money.
Soto will likely require a large investment to sign him, and Russo explains that the Orioles owner has plenty of money to spend.
If they can sign Soto, he would not only replace free agent Anthony Santander, but also be in the same division as the Yankees.
The Orioles ultimately had a disappointing end to their season as they were swept by the Kansas City Royals in the wild-card round.
With the Orioles being one of many teams likely looking to sign Soto, it will be interesting to see how things play out this offseason.
