The Minnesota Twins finished the 2024 season with an 82-80 record, good enough for fourth place in the American League Central.
In a division responsible for three postseason teams in 2024, the Twins missed the playoffs by four games in the wild card.
The Twins team is for sale as the Pohlad family, who have owned the Twins for the past 40 years, announced that they will be selling the team.
MLB analyst John Morosi believes the team’s sale could end with a key veteran player being traded this offseason.
“I like this idea of trading Carlos Correa,” Morosi said.

Correa suffered some injuries during the 2024 season and played only 86 games for the Twins.
He made the most of the games he did play, however, as he hit .310 with 14 home runs, 54 RBI and a .905 OPS.
Morosi points out that Correa has four years left on his contract before the club’s options become available, which could trigger the possibility of a trade for him.
One team Morosi notes could be a good fit for the New York Yankees, especially if they can’t sign free agent Juan Soto.
Correa played his third season with the Twins in 2024 after playing seven seasons with the Houston Astros.
He won Rookie of the Year in 2015 in his first year with the Astros.
It will be interesting to see how the offseason plays out for the Twins and if they decide to trade Correa.
