The ring’s new updated Top 10, 154-pound rankings are with some surprises and unpleasantness. Terence Crawford is #1 on their rankings, which makes no sense. He moves to 168 to challenge Canelo Alvarez for his undisputed Super Middleweight Championship. That right should be ‘a automatic loss.
Crawford’s #1: Why it fails
The WBC -Tussentage champion, Vergil Ortiz Jr., is now #2 on the list. It makes him almost 1 if your Crawford completely removes from the list because it abandons the 154 pound division to chase a payday.
If a fighter moves to a higher section for financial reasons, they must be stripped of their title or rankings. In Crawford’s case, he did not commit to returning to the 154-pound division. That alone is reason enough to ban him from the top 10 of the ring.
Putting Xander Zayas before Yoenis Tellez is a strange call, if he is nowhere as talented as the Cuban fighter. Tellez would be a nightmare for Zayas. All the tricks that Xander used to defeat Jorge Garcia, which keeps and moves excessively, would not be effective against Tellez.

Why Zayas don’t belong
So, Crawford must be the last. That would be a good start. Demote Zayas completely off the list because he doesn’t beat one of the other fighters. There are no words to describe how horrible Xander looked against Jorge Garcia last Saturday.
Vergil Ortiz jr. Would not beat Sebastian Fundora, Bakhram Murtaliev or a healthy Israil Madrimov. He must be pushed down the center on the list.
