On Wednesday, the LPGA unveiled the 2025 tour schedule, which is highlighted by 35 events offering a historic $131 million in prize money — the largest ever total for the organization, which celebrates its 75th anniversary next year.

The $131 million cap hit in 2025 represents a significant increase over the past few seasons and $61 million more than the total purse size in 2021.

“The 2024 season was another year of historic growth for the LPGA Tour, and with this 2025 plan we will continue to build on that growth,” LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said in a press release. “This schedule is highlighted by two exciting new events, a new multi-year title for the longest-running non-major on the LPGA Tour, even higher purse sizes, added benefits that will enhance the athlete experience, improved geographic flow and a longer off-season that will give our athletes a well-deserved break after their incredible work in 2024. We are excited to see even more exciting competition and memorable moments for our partners, athletes and fans around the world as we continue to celebrate and support the incredible journey of women’s golf in our 75th year.”

The schedule changes include a later start time for the 2025 season opener, the Hilton Grand Holiday Tournament of Champions, which will be played Jan. 30-Feb. 2, two multi-event Asian oscillations (one in February and March and another in October and November) and a European oscillation in July and August. A total of 11 countries and 14 countries will be visited during the season.

New events include the Black Desert Championship in Utah and the LPGA’s first return to Mexico since 2017. Both tournaments will be played in May. The International Crown, a biennial team event, is also back and will be played in Korea in October.

In addition to increasing purse sizes, 24 events will offer travel stipends, free accommodations and/or guaranteed minimum payouts to competitors. The Black Desert Championship will provide private cards to tour participants – the only domestic event to offer such a benefit.

In this week CME Championshipthe field will be played for $4 million winner’s checkthe single largest award in women’s golf history.

On the broadcast front, LPGA tournaments will continue to air on the Golf Channel, with at least seven events airing on NBC and four events on CBS. ESPN+ will also broadcast three events.
