Terence Crawford reacts cryptically amid Garcia’s criticism

Terence Crawford took to social media on Sunday to make a cryptic post, talking about people being “wandering.”

Crawford did not mention who he was refereeing, but it could be Ryan Garcia, who grilled him last week for his “boring”, overrated, “mediocre” and “stealing” money with his performances.

Ryan tossed Crawford up and down, saying he “robbed” his friend Turki Alalshikh with his against Israil Madrimov on Aug. 3 in a Riyadh season event on Aug. 3 DAZN PPV at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Crawford’s unrealistic expectations

Fans have also criticized Crawford for his once-a-year schedule and his lack of interest in fighting Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis or any of the killers at 154. Additionally, they don’t like Crawford just holding out for a big payday against Canelo Alvarez at 168, a division he has never fought against.

Crawford just wants the fight against Canelo to be given to him without earning it, and that doesn’t sit well with fans who don’t have that in their lives. His attitude is foreign to the public for nothing is given to them. It’s just disturbing to the fans how spoiled Crawford has become.

If Crawford would at least run the rig at 168 and fight three or four sharks, fans might put up with his demands for a Canelo golden parachute. But no, he wants the payday for his 16 years of service to be given to him. It would be kind of like a gold watch given to someone in retirement, but in this case it would be mega-millions.

“He steals so much money to put on mediocre fights that no one is going to watch. You just robbed my friend Turki (Alalshikh) of money and you’re acting like some top dog,” Ryan Garcia told the Say Cheese YouTube channel, talking about Terence Crawford getting a big payday in a boring performance against Israil Madrimov last month on August 3rd.

The fans called the Crawford vs. Madrimord fight booed because it was hands down the most underperforming match on the card. With the money Crawford made for the fight, you would have expected more from him.

“You couldn’t even beat this guy (back), who wasn’t even that good,” Ryan said of Crawford. “No, he (Madrimov) was not that good. None of these (fighters) are that good. Terence Crawford beat none other than Errol Spence Jr, who was in a car accident. Besides him, who has actually beaten Terence Crawford? Name one guy he beat besides Errol Spence, that’s well known. Who did he hit? Shawn Porter, who was washed.”

Spence was a shell of himself last year when he fought Crawford. He didn’t look or sound right. On the Internet, there was a before-after interview showing Spence talking before his car crash and then later when Crawford fought him.

Spence’s speech was slow and labored, and his movement didn’t seem the same. That’s the version of Spence that Crawford fought. The 34-year-old Shawn Porter was obviously at the end of his career when Crawford fought him.

The unlikely Canelo fight

“Don’t do it,” Ryan said when told that Crawford wanted Canelo Alvarez. “Terence Crawford is an over-hyped bum. Someone has to say it. You’re an overhyped bum, bro. Stop stealing everyone’s money. You are not entertaining. You’re boring,” Ryan says.

It doesn’t look like Crawford is going to get the Canelo fight. So Ryan doesn’t really have to worry about what would happen if Crawford were to move up to 168 and be outworked by the bigger, stronger and more talented Canelo. The Mexican star knows better than to gloat over Crawford as he will not receive credit from the fans if he were to fight him.
