Coaching coach Brian ‘Bomac’ McIntyre is not worried about Turki Alalshikh who wants a counter-toe match between his fighter, Terence Crawford, in a title challenge against the undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez on September 13. Brian predicts that Crawford will “stop” in the later rounds.
Bomac says Crawford (41-0, 31 COs) will be a “Tough battle” For two rounds, but then take over after analyzing Canelo’s fighting style.
Crawford’s last knockout was two years ago against Errol Spence in 2023. However, the power that Terence showed in that fight was not there for his debut on 154 against Israil Madrimov last August.

Bomac did not want to give tips on how Crawford was going to fight, but he was likely to go through the early rounds. He knows better than dealing with Canelo while he is still fresh and fighting at full power. The much bigger and stronger Edgar Berlanga found out in the difficult way what it is like to trade with Alvarez in September when he was dropped hard by a left hook.
Brian on Madrimov, Canelo
“Madrimov had a difficult style, jumped up and down and s ***, but Canelo came to fight,” Bomac said when asked about his response to people who say Crawford has problems against Israil Madrimov.
Crawford never solved Madrimov’s because he ate right hand until the end of the fight. The 12th round was one of his worst in the fight, with Madrimov hit him with an uninterrupted head.
At the end of the fight, it was difficult to choose a winner between them. It was a neck-and-neck battle against the whole fight. It depends on what fans prefer – the stinging of Crawford or the power shots that lands Madrimov. A draw would have been fair, but it would have destroyed Turki Alalshikh’s plans for the money fight between Crawford and Canelo.
