Teofimo vs Shakur MSG Confirmed — Fans Want PPV Price Info

Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson will hold their kickoff conference in New York this week on Wednesday, December 10th to discuss their fight next month.

MSG announcement? Fans ask just one question

Earlier today, it was revealed that the Ring 6 event will take place on January 31 at Madison Square Garden in New York. This made East Coast fans happy as many of them will want to attend the live show.

What the average fan is really interested in is how much the Lopez-Stevenson event will cost on January 31, 2026 on DAZN PPV. That was what they really wanted to hear. Making it free is the ideal gift as many of them are taxed from the numerous PPV events every month.

Two non-PPV stars on PPV

Shakur and Teofimo are not PPV fighters. So it doesn’t matter that they fight with each other. Two negatives do not make a positive. Stevenson’s hit-and-miss style is a cup of poison for the eyes. And with Teo, he adopted Stevenson’s style, seemingly mimicking him for his last two fights, leading to lackluster performances.

Stevenson (24-0, 11 KOs) and WBO light welterweight champion Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) will meet in the main event on DAZN. For former three-division world champion Shakur, this is a fight that will allow him to win a fourth-division belt.

Teo still avoids the wolves

Lopez gets a good payday out of the fight, but it won’t prove he’s the best at 140. Stevenson is a lightweight moving up to improve his legacy against a popular, but not necessarily the best, fighter at light welterweight. We don’t know who the #1 guy is at 140 since the champions haven’t fought.

By this time, Teofimo should have already fought the top dogs at 140: Gary Antuanne Russell, Subriel Matias and Richardson Hitchins. Instead, he was chosen to fight the likes of Steve Claggett, Arnold Barboza Jr., and a faded Josh Taylor in recent bouts.

Teofimo-Shakur is more about a fight between two popular fighters, but neither of the best in their divisions. They are well-maneuvered fighters who have shown no eagerness to face the lions.

Shakur Grilled for Dodging Foster

We saw this in the last day with Shakur’s dismissive attitude about defending against his new WBC mandatory O’Shaquie Foster. Teofimo is the same when asked about going up against the best guys at 140, like Antuanne Russell, Matias and Hitchins. He doesn’t want to know them.
