Teddy Sheringham has revealed he is worried Dominic Solanke will not be the final piece of Tottenham’s puzzle ahead of Sunday’s north London derby.
Spurs signed Solanke this summer from Bournemouth in a big-money deal worth £65million, but the striker has missed two of the opening three Premier League games of the season with an ankle injury.
The 26-year-old started against Leicester but has not played against Everton or Newcastle, with it unknown whether he will be fit to play against Arsenal.
Sheringham was worried that Solanke will not be the final piece
Spurs will be hoping Solanke, who scored 19 Premier League goals for the Cherries last season, is fit to lead the line against Arsenal.
Ange Postecoglou hopes Solanke will be the final piece of the puzzle for his side, but the former Spurs striker Sheringham is not convinced he is
“I like Dominic Solanke (but) I don’t know if he is the final piece,” he told Ladbrokes.
“Being the number nine in and around the six-yard box he will be loading up this season, only time will tell.

“But I like that they have gone out and bought a great centre-forward to come in and score goals, they have obviously identified that this was the problem.
“It is a shame that he has missed the last two games. He missed a couple of chances against Leicester.
“And I’m sure it would have been at the end of one or two against Everton, and then you go running and your confidence is high.
“At the moment, he hasn’t scored for the club, and the team has already dropped a couple of points, which means there is already pressure to come in and start scoring.
“I really hope it comes out quickly, because that relaxes you and your teammates and your fans.
“I’m glad they’ve taken this position though and I’m very optimistic for Solanke.”
Spurs will be looking to get back to winning ways against Arsenal after losing to Newcastle before the international break and will no doubt be boosted by the absence of Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice.
