Once you get past the single winner and start looking at the full lineup that each company brought to the table, the conversation changes.
TaylorMade may have had the best driver.
Callaway may have had the best GROUP of drivers in 2026.
Callaway vs. TaylorMade driver scores 2026
Here’s a look at how the TaylorMade and Callaway leaders fared in the 2026 testing.
Callaway placed three drivers just behind the Qi4D and a fourth not far off the pace. Quantum Max and Quantum Triple Diamond came in at 9.1 and the rest of the lineup stayed tightly grouped.
TaylorMade’s lineup looks a little different. You get the Qi4D at the top and a strong showing from the Qi4D LS, but, after that, there’s more separation.
TaylorMade had the best individual driver. Callaway gave you more options that performed at a similar level.
| Brand | pattern | MGS result | The accuracy | Distance | PARDON |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Taylor Made | Qi4D | 9.2 | 9.2 | 9.3 | 9.1 |
| TaylorMade | Qi4D LS | 8.9 | 8.5 | 9.1 | 9.0 |

The distance story looks a little different once you dig into the data
Callaway’s entire lineup lives in the mid-250s. There isn’t much head-to-head separation.
TaylorMade gives you two drivers that can last on the bottom. The Qi4D and Qi4D LS are right up there. But once you get past those, the numbers drop into the 240s.
| Brand | pattern | Average Total distance |
|---|---|---|
| Callaway | Quantum Max | 255.2 meters |
| Callaway | Triple Quantum Diamond | 254.4 meters |
| Callaway | Maxim Quantic D | 254.0 meters |
| Callaway | Quantum Triple Diamond Max | 252.8 meters |
| TaylorMade | Qi4D LS | 253.7 meters |
| TaylorMade | Qi4D | 253.3 meters |
| TaylorMade | Qi4D Max | 247.6 meters |
| Taylor Made | Qi4D Max Lite | 245.4 meters |

TaylorMade’s most forgiving driver gives up the most distance
The Qi4D Max Lite is one of the most forgiving drivers on test with a forgiveness score of 9.2, but is TaylorMade’s shortest driver at 245.4 yards. You’re looking at more than eight yards compared to the longer TaylorMade and even more when you compare it to the high end Callaway.
The Max Lite isn’t trying to be the longest driver. It’s built to keep you in the game and make your mistakes better. There is a trade-off, but for some golfers, it may be worth it.
Which one is better?
It depends on how you look at it.
TaylorMade built the best driver in our 2026 test. Callaway built the deepest lineup, giving players more options that perform at a high level without much drop. Go hit both and see which one works best for your game.
