Tayormade is continuing a nostalgia topic with the last mini -driver Release
company Brnr mini and subsequent Mini -copper Launched the current mini obsession of the Golf World driver in the Stratosphere and came to the heels of the original One Mini and 300 mini, each paying homage to the legendary drivers of Tayormade’s past.
For the latest entry into the Mini Driver category, Tayormade is drawing on what many consider the company’s largest driver of all time with R7 Quad Mini.
Here are four things to know about Taylormade r7 r7 quad mini driver.

An iconic name
All the last mini drivers of Tayormade are named after iconic drivers of the past, rather than aligning their current line, as some of their competitors do.
R7 Quad Mini again brings the name R7, which was one of Taylormade’s most popular lines. Initially it was released in 2004, the R7 line lasted for four seasons with no less than half a dozen repetition during that time, including Quad R7 and later R7 Superquad, which was the 460 cc version and contains the same black, red and gold scheme as R7 Mini.

“R7 Quad Mini Driver is one of those projects that excited everyone from the original concept, and being able to return one of the most iconic clubs in Taylormade history was a dream come true,” said Chandler Carr, Tayormade Product Manager, the creation of products. “We can’t be more excited to continue putting the rhythm in the mini driver category.”
For many people who played the driver nearly 20 years ago, the return of the R7 name is sure to evoke a very strong emotional connection. Some consider the Superquad R7 as the best driver Taylormade has ever released.
The main innovation of R7 was the four -card movable weight technology system (MWT), which was one of the first adjustment features on a driver. Original R7 introduced 883 possible weight combinations and CG using a complementary bag with additional eight weights.

To add nostalgia, the Fujukura MD (mini driver) shaft shares and head head exhibit the same red, white and yellow R7 line accents.

Starting with the 2014 SLDR driver, Tayormade left MWT based on cartridges in favor of sliding weights, and the industry followed the lawsuit.
But with the QI35 lineup of this year, the company made a face around and threw the sliding weights, turning into a weighing system based on cartridges, it calls it a trajectory adjustment system (bowl) in both Qi35 LS and QI35 drivers. The reasoning was that designers found that you can move more weight away when using a “pin point weighing” based on cartridges than you can with sliding weights.
QI35 LS has three weights while QI35 has two, but R7 Quad Mini is the first time Tayormade has used four ports of adjustable weight since R7 Superquad in 2007.

“The R7 Quad Mini is the perfect canvas for innovation and style,” Carr said. “Displaying four movable bowls (trajectory adjustment system), our newest mini driver gives players the opportunity to adjust the shape of shots and to maximize out -of -deck performance.”
The R7 Mini Quad Weight system includes two 13 g weights located in the rear positions and two 4 g weights in the front and toe positions, allowing six configurations of different weights with more weights available for purchase.
Putting both heavy weights on the back increases apology and starting, while setting them forward reduces rotation and increases the distance with a CG forward. You, of course, can put both heavy weights from both sides together to create an extreme draw or diminish prejudice, but putting heavy weight on the front or toe will also produce a small bias against that side.
Putting a heavy weight on the front, on the side of the face you tend to hit should be a good place to start. For example, I tend to hit the ball toward the toe, so I want to put heavy weight on the front finger with a light weight on the front heel while I have the opposite in the back weights (setting down on the table below).

Taylormade
A better option of both worlds
While Callaway and the title have accumulated both their claims on the opposite sides of the mini -driver size spectrum (Callaway is the largest while the title is smaller), Tayormade has continued to take a position in the middle.
At 305 cc, R7 Quad Mini is essentially with the same head size as previous brnr mini and mini mini brnro drivers Title GT280 and 35 cc smaller than Callaway Elyte Mini.

What does that mean? Basically Taylormade is trying to find that medium land between a mini driver being a second driver option simply out of tee or a 2-drru.
IN Golf Testing the video above and in my testing, Quad R7 seems to be a very possible option even by just sharing weight configuration. It revolves enough to be movable by the deck, while it also remains large enough to inspire some confidence from the Tee.
Old, technical name of young age
While the R7 Quad Mini driver looks like a driver of Taylormade’s past, she has all the technology of Taylormade’s present.
R7 is the first driver Taylormade Mini to approve the infinity carbon crown of the company that debuted in last year’s Qi10 Woods lineup. Not only does this help to create a clean look at the address, but it also allows engineers to redistribute the saved weight elsewhere, including the MWT system.
