The new prototype of Taylormade prototype seems to be forged.
Jack Harsh/Golf
Dublin, Ohio. – Some club omissions are higher than others. You can calculate the new Tayormade wedge among “others”.
IN Memorial This week, Taylormade is bringing quietly its new mg prototype wedge for its tour staff.
There is not much there for the new prototype except what we can show from the photos made In the country this week at Muirfield Village.
First view
Visibly, wedge formation does not appear to be very different from the current MG4 of Tayormade, except for another muscle pillow formation in the back of the wedge. The finish is much darker than the standard MG4 chrome finish and almost has a blue or gray color for it.
The rear of the wedge is free from most stamps, with only the words “grinding” and a ground ground logo stamped with the word “proto” around it in the toe. The Tayormade logo appears only in the socks along with the word “forged” stamped under it.
There are also two new grinding, SX and SC, the first being one wider with a slight relief of the path of the path, while the latter seems to be a narrower C-grind shape with more extreme soles and leg relief. Both were seen in the 60 degree lobe wedge.
Tommy Fleetwood apparently gave Wedges a morning test in the facility of Muirfield village practice, but we will have to wait and see if he adds them to the bag before Thursday.
What to do from proto mg
with Mg4 approaching the two -year -old sign Since its presentationIt is curious that this new prototype does not contain “MG5” brand everywhere else as its possible successor.
The possible possessions that Tayormade can give us an excitation of what will come later this summer. MG4 was released in August 2023, so seeing a pop-up prototype could be a sign that we would see a wider release in just a few months.
Seeing Taylormade’s quarrel options continue to grow is also welcome, as they have seriously filled their offers in recent years.
But perhaps more interesting about this wedge is the fact that it is forged, which would make Taylormade one of the few OEMs that currently offers a forged wedge. The counterfeit Ping’s Glide family still sees actions in the tournament and Ben Griffin just won with the counterfeit wedges of Mizuno T-1 in the bag, but most other manufacturers offer ground wedges.
A fake wedge apparently would allow a softer feeling and help the players better match the feeling of their handcuffs.
For now, we will have to wait and see what is done by this prototype and if someone puts in the bag this week or over the next.
