
There may be only one winner on Sunday in the USA’s amateur.
But this is a funny thing to say Saturday night, on the same day two teenagers saw their boyhood dreams come true after victories in their respective American amateur semifinal The matches hit their tickets to the masters.
Yes, both winners AND The most prestigious golf competition wins wins in the next April masters, which was good news for both Jackson Herington, 19, and Mason18, who progressed in the last match at the Olympic Club dramatically on Saturday afternoon.
On Sunday afternoon, both players will participate in one of the biggest traditions of the Golf match: a marathon match with 36 holes that will determine the eventual winner of the Havemeyer trophy and the American amateur champion title.

Mason
Age: 18
Hometown: Thomasville, ga.
World Amateur Ranking: 362
Currently: Entering his high year in high school
How did he get here: Mason Howell is the most impossible amateur finalist in the US. He made him all the way to the last game at the Olympic Club as he reportedly believed he would be bombarded by a Play off 20-for-18 to set the end of the strike competition.
Howell, 18, is the first US amateur competitor to do it in the last game after winning a play off since 2017, but the 63rd tour of the tournament seems perfectly comfortable in the role of Spoiler. He defeated Tommy Morrison, one of the leading preferences of the tournament, in the 64th round, then surely the most famous competitor in the field, John Daly II, in the quarter -finals.
After winning on Saturday he will play in masters in April while still older at middle. He is committed to enrolling at the University of George for Autumn subsequently His first start in Augusta National, in the 2026 recruitment class.
Jackson Herington

Currently: Entering his sophisticated year at the University of Tennessee
How did he get here: Speaking to spoilers, Herington has been a real pumpkin factory this weekend in the US amateur, ending Cinderella’s two biggest stories in the championship in the back-back matches to reach Sunday’s last game.
Herington, 19, has played excellent, delightful golf at the Olympic Club, drawing his experience to reach 32 last year in Hazeltin. However, more impressive, he has beaten two tour fans’ favorites: 4,492 Jimmy ABDOand Norcal Local Nialls Dongan in neighborhoods and semis.
Herington flourished under the biggest pressure he will find throughout the week at the Olympic Club on Saturday afternoon, filling a shot at 18 and pouring into the bird poultry to close the donid in front of an annoying positive crowd.
