Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis deactivated his X and Instagram accounts a day after Keyshawn Davis’ impressive win over Gustavo Lemos. When fans click on Tank Davis’ X account, it reads, “This account does not exist.” Additionally, all of Tank’s posts on his Instagram account are gone.
Fans believe that Keyshawn’s calling out of Tank in the ring and during interviews led to a firestorm of pressure being placed on the Baltimore native to defend his WBA lightweight title against him next.
Is Gervonta trying to escape pressure?
It’s not going to help Tank Davis to bury his head in the sand like an Ostrich to avoid the fans and Keyshawn. He will have to come out of hiding and face them sooner or later because he cannot escape this kind of pressure by turning off his social media accounts.
Tank might as well get it over with and fight Keyshawn now because he’s only going to get better, and he’ll get older. It’s better to fight Keyshawn now while he’s still developing than three to five years from now. Unlike Vasily Lomachenko, Tank cannot age ‘The Businessman’ Keyshawn.
The timing of Tank disabling his X and Instagram accounts are too suspicious not to believe it was done in response to Keyshawn’s second-round knockout of Lemos (29-2, 19 KOs) last Friday night at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Immediately after the fight, Keyshawn (12-0, 8 KOs) called out Tank Davis inside the ring when he was interviewed by ESPNand said, “Hey, Gervonta, knock-knock.”
On social media, many fans are pushing for Tank Davis to fight 25-year-old Keyshawn. They feel that he has done enough to earn a world title shot against him after his wins over these fighters:
– Gustavo Lemos
– Miguel Madueno
– José Pedraza
– Nahir Albright
Granted, one would still like to see Keyshawn try to avenge his four losses to Cuba’s Andy Cruz, but that guy is like the third rail for the Virginia native. You can’t blame Keyshawn for not wanting to fight Cruz because that guy has already shown he’s too good for him. Keyshawn has still done enough with his four recent wins to earn a title shot against Tank Davis.
