Reacting to the news about BCB’s letter, Tamim called for caution and internal discussions before taking a public stand on sensitive issues. He emphasized Bangladesh cricket’s financial reliance on the ICC and suggested that dialogue rather than public confrontation would serve the country’s interests better.
“But I am saying that the interest, future and everything else of Bangladesh cricket should be considered before taking such a decision. There is nothing better than solving something through dialogue. I feel and I would have done the same if I were there, as it is a sensitive issue, we would discuss the matter ourselves before making public comments. The funding comes from the ICC, so the decisions should be based on what will help Bangladesh cricket. Tamim said with reference to NDTV.

By using the term, the BCB director essentially accused Bangladesh’s most prolific batsman of putting India’s cricketing interests ahead of his nation’s interests.
