Taking up taking over (and what does it mean for your wallet)

Congratulations! You’re probably here by accident … But that’s okay.

As I have you, I must know. Do you know what a takedown is?

It is a word often thrown into the sneakers world (more precisely, basketball shoes). But it is very, very applicable to golf.

And before clicking away, let me hang a little carrot. Takedowns are taking over … and this is good news for your wallet and your game.

Let me explain.

WTF is a takeDown?

A tapedown (or the met model) is just the little sister of a flag product. Think the iPhone 16 vs iPhone 16 Pro.

The Pro has an additional camera, higher refresh rate and some bells and other whistles. The regular iPhone 16 keeps the most important features (including the same computer chip) but passes some premium supplements.

Also cheaper. The cheapest way.

A Takedown gives you most of the same functionality, technology and features as the expensive flag – simply without the price that makes you cry your wallet.

Are you starting to understand? A Takedown model is positioned as a friendly alternative to a “budget” for a flag product, which has most of the same functionality, technology or features as the most expensive option.

As I said earlier, this is very widespread in the world of sneakers. Almost every signature athlete on the Nike basketball salary list has a signature model and a more affordable model. It reduces the obstacle to entering that product line, saying $ 200 to $ 150.

This idea has been about golf for years, but is starting to be removed today.

Here’s what I mean.

Takedowns are taking over the golf

Our golf shoe testing this year? Dominated by takedowns. Payntr all day sc Beat her most expensive brother big to win our spik -free test. Friendly budget Under the Armor Fade drive Printed most precious Drive for the best value.

I recently compared it Nike Victory Tour 4 ($ 200) ANTI Pro 4 ($ 150)And guess what? The cheapest model of Takedown exceeded both price and performance.

This goes beyond shoes:

  • recall PXG’s 0211 line? These were essentially stuck to their premium items, reducing the barrier to entry (and they were the first new handcuffs I bought).
  • Why drop $ 399 in Bushnell Tour v6 Shift When $ 299 Slope A-1 Works just as well?

As I said, a way to reduce the obstacle to the entrance.

Love to see it

Getting on stage is true, and it’s something I want to see. Golf is only becoming more expensive (brutal), but when the performance gap between the flag and the products received shrinks, both your game and the bank account win.

What do you think? Do you see the same change that I am?
