Sydney McLaughlin-Levron will compete in the Brussels Diamond League race

The 400m hurdles world record holder and two-time Olympic distance champion will compete over the 200m and 400m events in the Belgian capital.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levron will compete in the 200m and 400m at the Brussels Diamond League (September 13-14).

It will be the first time the 25-year-old, who ran 50.37 to break her own 400m hurdles record at the Paris Olympics, will compete after the Games.

McLaughlin-Levron won her second Olympic gold medal in the 400m hurdles in the French capital and was also part of the US women’s 4x400m team that stood atop the podium.

The quartet of Shameier Little, McLaughlin-LeVron, Gabby Thomas and Alexis Holmes clocked 3:15.27 at the Stade de France, the second fastest time in history behind the Soviet Union’s 3:15.17 in 1988.

McLaughlin-Levron’s 47.71 split was the fourth-fastest at the Games in the 4x400m and showcased her incredible speed over the flat 400m.

He will now have the chance to show off that half-and-a-half lap at the Van Damme Memorial in Brussels.

Although she has mostly focused on the hurdles when it comes to the majors, McLaughlin-LeVron is the second-fastest US athlete over 400m thanks to her 48.74 at Hayward Field last July.

It also currently puts McLaughlin-Levron 12th on the all-time 400m list, and if she goes any faster, Sania Richards-Ross’s US record of 48.70 will surely end.

McLaughlin-Levron has a time of 22.07 in the 200m, and she set that in Los Angeles back in May.

As Brussels is the last of the Diamond Leagues this season, it means the event will take place over two days.

That gives McLaughlin-Levron and other athletes the ability to double up on certain events during the weekend.
