The second episode of ‘Swing Full Swing’ of Netflix, Season 3titled “Through Thick and Thin”, dedicated to friendships. Here, the attention of the attention is mainly trained in two pairs of players: Canadians Adam Hadwin and Nick Taylor, and Irishmen Rory Mcilroy AND Shane LowryAs they prepare for the Lone Team of PGA Tour, The Zurich Classic.
For Hadwin and Taylor, Hope was to use their performance together as a pillow of launching in a potential team in the 2024 presidents Cup. But for Mcilroy and Lowry, the motivations were a little different. Last year he scored the first time Mcilroy had ever attracted him to the New Orleans tour in his 17-year career-a development that came as a result of A drunk lunch with Lowry.
Lowry and Mcilroy have a long history of friendship that began when they were juniors growing up in Ireland, which the episode documents in detail. As the current world no. 3 – and the winner of the four main championships – Mcilroy has been one of the biggest stars of the game for the best two decades. His fame – and the game – it is likely that the envy of many of his peers, including Lowry. But the most discovering moments of the episode occurred in the relevant stories of each player, where at one point, Lowry agreed to feel Mcilroy’s protector.
“No one has ever asked me this,” Lowry said. “And now that you say it, I would probably do, yes.
“He gets a lot of unnecessary criticism from the general public, golf media, other players,” Lowry continued. “Such things can weigh a lot for people, and I just feel like he gets a lot s.”
In his confession, Mcilroy revealed the things he admires for Lowry, which offered a revealing look at Mcilroy’s personal difficulties.
“Sometimes I have fought with the balance of trying to be the best golf player, trying to be the best man or the best father or the best … and sometimes I get overload and can take a little for me,” he said. “And then, you know, I see how Shane does it very easily, and sometimes you have to focus on one or the other. And you know, he is really good at this, and I see it as a good model for me in some ways.
“I can learn a lot from him and how he treats everything in his life.”
The episode came the full circle when both friends achieved a win of play off together in Zurich – a heartfelt moment representing the 25th PGA Tour’s victory and Lowry’s third.
