Swiatte will give up the Top 2 for the first time since March 2022

IgA swiatekTenis has not been the same this spring, as she failed to win a surface title by going to Roland-Garros for the first time since 2020. Its ranking will not be the same on Monday.

Former World No.1 is set to fall off Top-2 for the first time in 165 weeks (since March 21, 2022) when Monday’s new ranking is released. It will not be higher than no.4, and may fall to no.5, depending on what happens to Jasmine Paolini in Rome next week.

This envisions trouble for planting Swiatek in Paris, where she can now face Sabalenka Since the semifinals, and potentially the quarterfinals, if it ends in the next week.



Coco gafff AND Jessica Pegula will be ranked in no.2 and no.3, not necessarily in that way, next week.

Of the last 165 weeks within the Top 2, Swiatek has spent 125 of them as No.1, but she has been looking up at Aryna Sabalenka since the end of the US Open last year.

It is not the end of the world for Swiatek, who won her girls’ title in Roland-Garros with an order and with a ranking of no.54, but is a sign of her latest battles.

“Surely it was not easy,” she said after falling to Danielle Collins 6-1, 7-5 Saturday to drop to 21-3 Lifetime in Foro Italy. “Surely I’m doing something wrong. So I have to reorganize and change some things. I’ve had some tips from the team. I will simply try to do it.”

Asked if she gets a different feeling when she arrives in Paris, where she is 35-2 lives with four titles, including triumphs at the last three stations, she said:

“It doesn’t matter what things they get. Yeard every year is different, so … doesn’t matter.”
