Wimbledon IgA Swiatek champion continues to board the hot hand in North America’s strong courts. The big champion six times blocked Eva Lys, Germany on Friday evening in Montreal, 6-2, 6-2 to reach the 16th round.

The 24-year-old Pole has only fallen eight games through two rounds on the Omnium Banque National, and will face Clara Tara Tara’s 16th.
Tauson issued Yuliia strodubtseva, 6-3 6-0.
“It will be the first time I play a heavy hitter here,” Swiatek said of confronting Tauson, whom she defeated in Wimbledon in July, 6-4, 6-1. “So I think it will have to fit this, but when it plays inside, it plays greatly.”
“When we played, I feel like I was strong enough for her to lose a little more, but I know she is this kind of player that when she feels she will play well. Of course she will be a challenge, and she likes to serve too quickly, so I’ll see it.”
Swiatek has now won nine game matches, dating from the beginning of its Wimbledon title. She is bidding for her 13th title of the Court of the Court this week in Montreal, and her first since Indian Wells in 2024.
“I feel like I played two solid matches, and Eve today too, you know, even though the result seemed to be biased, it was not so easy,” Swiatek said.
Swiatek improves at 43-12 in the season with its victory.
