Indian National Cricket Team T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav’s poor form continued in the second T20I of five matches. series Against England National Cricket Team at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on Saturday 25th January.
Suryakumar Yadav failed again with the bat as he was dismissed by 29-year-old English bowling all-rounder Brydon Carse in the 6th over of the second innings.

India’s Mr 360 has not been in good form with the bat since Rohit Sharma led the Indian T20I team.
He was in absolutely sensational form in 2022 and 2023, but there was a big dip in his performance in 2024 and things got really bad in 2025 as well.
In the T20I series opener against the Three Lions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Suryakumar took a duck and returned to the hut after scoring 12 runs off 7 balls with 3 fours in the second T20I.
On the 4th ball of the 6th over, Brydon Carse hit 141.9 kmph to the Indian skipper, who tried to cut it to third man but was squeezed for room.
Then the ball hit the middle of the bat and then went towards the stumps and India were a bit worried at 58/3. In total, he has scored 12(7), 0(3), 1(4), 4(9), 21(17), 75(35), 8(10), 29 in his last 10 T20I innings. (14), 8(9) and 26(12).

What happened in the 1st T20I between India and England?
India produced a superb performance to beat England by 7 wickets in the 1st T20I at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
England batted first and struggled against the Indian bowling unit. Arshdeep Singh He gave India an early breakthrough by dismissing Phil Salt and Ben Duckett. Jos Buttler was the lone batsman for England, scoring a magnificent 68 off 44 balls.
However, he didn’t get much support from the other end as Varun Chakravarty (3/23) ran through the middle order, dismissing Harry Brook, Liam Livingston and the England captain. Also, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each to restrict England to a total of 132.
In reply, India chased down the target with ease. Abhishek Sharma emerged as the standout performer, smashing 79 off 34 balls that included eight sixes and five fours. Although Sanju Samson (26) and Suryakumar Yadav (0) lost to Jofra Archer early, Sharma’s aggressive batting ensured India maintained the high score and ended the chase in just 12.5 overs.
Mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty was adjudged Man of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance.
