It’s been a terrible start to the 2024/25 Premier League season for Julen Lopetegui at West Ham, but one man who apparently won’t be replacing him at the London Stadium is Graham Potter.
The ex-Chelsea manager has been out of work since being sacked by the Blues, and although the Spaniard is taking the hammer from the Hammers for his poor form, give me sport sources indicate that Potter will not be the man to replace him.
Lopetegui appeared more than happy return to Spain during the international break, and it is clear that he still feels that the coach’s job is his because it is keep demanding signings for East Londoners.
West Ham will not take Graham Potter as Lopetegui’s replacement
The issue for David Sullivan is whether to stick or pivot.
If he decides to give Lopetegui more time to turn things around, he risks pushing the Hammers further away from where they want to be.
Likewise, if Sullivan doesn’t think there’s a top candidate available to replace the Spaniard, it doesn’t make sense for him to make a trade for it.

Unfortunately for the president, not bagging either Hansi Flick or Ruben Amorim when he seemingly had the chance to do so is looking increasingly short-sighted.
Insider claims the 47-year-old wants a job at West Ham. Find out who’s here!
The former has Barca playing somewhere close to their prime, while the latter is about to embark on his own Premier League journey at Man United.
It’s as if Sullivan is damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t, although fans will surely just want to see a return to the ‘West Ham way’ of playing football.
They didn’t get it under David Moyes, and thoughts that Lopetegui would be the man to bring that continental style back to east London have been quickly revised.
