Roger Federer I know what it takes to set up Laver Cup championship.
Appreciating this weekend’s confrontation in San Francisco in San Francisco, Federer favors the European team to successfully defend Laver Cup mainly due to high level World no. 1 Carlos Alcaraz.
Speaking to the media ahead of the Laver Cup this weekend, Federer favors Team Europe, which Eded Team World, 13-11, in the force of Alcaraz’s return on Berlin last September.
“I think Europe is probably favorite – mainly because of Alcaraz and Zverev in the team,” Federer said.
“Especially Alcaraz, he is playing tennis on another level, honestly. I always like to watch Carlos. He’s a real treatment to see.
“I think Europe probably has a stronger team in general, and I think the doubles are not so important this time, because I think both teams are just as strong in the doubles. It will go down to bachelors.”

This will be Alcaraz’s first event since he destroyed Jannik Sinner in the US Open final earlier this month to capture his sixth Grand Slam crown and recover ranking no. 1 of the world for the first time since September 2023.
Former Numer 1 Federer said the fact that Alcaraz arrived at San Francisco early and practiced is a strong sign for a European -in -team team, which will be led by Captain Yannik Noah for the first time.
“I think with Carlos Alcaraz on the team and he already arrived in San Francisco and ready to go, I give Europe Edge here in San Francisco to take it back home,” Federer told the media.
