Patrick Bamford’s future will depend on whether or not Leeds United allow Joe Gelhardt to leave in January, according to reports.
Bamford has enjoyed some incredible displays during his time as a Leeds player, including scoring 16 goals to launch them to promotion to the Premier League in 2019/20, followed by 17 goals in 38 top-flight appearances this season following

But more recently, the former Chelsea and Middlesbrough striker has endured more injury struggles than centre-backs.
This has seen Bamford fall down the pecking order at Elland Road and this season, he has played just 102 minutes in eight substitute appearances in the Championship, with his only outing coming in the EFL Cup.
Bamford will be even more disappointed at his lack of game time, considering Leeds have often struggled to get the numbers together this season.
More recently, however, Joel Piroe has been in fine form, scoring four goals and providing two assists in his last nine Championship outings.
Patrick Bamford Leeds future depends on Joe Gelhardt
With Leeds currently top of the Championship table, Daniel Farke will manage his squad carefully to ensure they have the depth and quality to secure promotion to the Premier League.
According to the Football League Paper (via ITV Leeds News), Bamford will be unable to leave Elland Road in January if Gelhardt leaves.
Gelhardt has made just three appearances in all competitions this season, but it would only take a dose of injury bad luck for him and Bamford to become important figures in Farke’s squad.
A number of Championship clubs are understood to want to sign Gelhardt on loan, but Leeds would rather he move abroad than strengthen a potential rival.
Bamford and his representatives will be keeping an eye on developments with Gelhardt to see how it could affect his own future.
