Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has warned supporters that his side will soon be “discovered” as he prepares for an incredibly tough run of games.
The new manager is unbeaten since moving to Old Trafford, beating Bodo/Glimt and Everton after a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in his first game, but the difficulty will increase on Wednesday with a visit to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.
united must also face Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United before the end of the calendar year, while 2025 begins with away games against Liverpool i arsenal.
“I’d like to say different things, but I have to say it again: the storm will come,” Amorim told fans. “I don’t know if you use this expression, but we will have difficult moments and in some games we will be discovered. And I know this because I know my players and I know football and I. follow football.
“So I understand the difference between the teams and we are at the point where we are putting simple things in the team, without training, and you feel that in this game against Everton.
“They changed a little bit the way they were building – they are a very good team and we had a lot of problems because we can’t change it by calling the captain something because we don’t have that training (time).”
Amorim admitted that in an ideal world the United manager should not be anticipating such a struggle, but insisted the Red Devils are simply not ready to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool at the top of the table Premier League.
“I know it’s very difficult to be a Manchester United manager and say these things: we want to win all the time, no matter what, and we’re going to try to win,” he continued.
“But we know we’re at a different point, if we compare ourselves to Arsenal. We’ll try to win it and we’re going with confidence to win but we know we have to play really well to win the next football game.”
