Shakur Stevenson continued his campaign this week to try to push Gervonta Davis to fight him. WBC lightweight champion Stevenson (23-0, 11 COs) says Tank should fight against him so they can prove that the best fighter is in the lightweight division.
Looked past
Shakur already has a fight against scheduled William Zepeda For July 12 in New York City. It is a bad idea for him to look past the fight if he accepts that he will win and renew his push to a tank Davis fight. He may lose against Zepeda (33-0, 27 COs), because this man is easily the best fighter he fought during his career.
There is something greedy about a fighter who looks at a fight other than they are already having a scheduled battle. This is a good behavior. Shakur has to finish what’s on his plate.

He has only performed once since moving up to 135, and it was two years ago in 2023 against Edwin de Los Santos. Shakur ran the whole fight, barely won, and was thrown out of the venue. He later blamed his actions on injuries, but then did not take a re -broadcast and has not fought well since.
“I think it’s not meant to be between me and him to be cool,” says Shakur, who makes it clear that he wants Tank Davis to praise him because he hit a tomato, rather than telling the truth. “I guarantee (he is) sensitive like hell. It’s good for us not to be cool, but if that’s the case, I think we should fight. ‘
Just because Tank Shakur criticizes for fighting poor opposition does not mean that he has to automatically give him a payday he does not deserve. Shakur must understand that this is not the way things work in the real world. He tries to cut corners by going from the electrician, Josh Padley, to the tank.
“It must be something that happens that is going to make a fight between me and him,” Shakur continued. “I don’t think he should fight against this person, that person and the next person, or set up all these other battles, and I’m not one of them. I’m the old brother. “
Earn the shot
The problem is that he is not the man. Stevenson did not fight the right people to put him in a position for a fight against tank, because Padley, Artur Harutyunyan and De Los Santos are not the right guys he needs to fight.
