Stacy Lewis, Solheim’s captain and the big champion twice, announces the pension



Stacy LewisA 17-year-old LPGA veteran who won 13 times-including two main championships-and Captain the US Cup team Solheim In 2023 and 2024, she announced her retirement from Golf Professional on Wednesday.

The news was released on Lewis’s social media accounts in front of the Walmart championship at the LPGA Arkansas, which Lewis will play for the 19th this week. Lewis, an alum of the University of Arkansas and four-time All-American in college, won the Arkansas Championship in 2014.

“Never in a million years, I would never have thought that this trip golf would still go in 2025, but it’s time to remove the clubs,” Lewis wrote. “I will end the 2025 season, but this will be my last in the LPGA. I am not exactly sure what else is, but I am very grateful to all Arkansas fans and the people who have supported me (the way)!”

Lewis’s first LPGA victory was a major, 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship (now Chevron Championship). She posted the other 11 wins over the next three years, including a major second, Ricoh Women’s British Open 2013. In 2013, she climbed to world no. 1 – becoming only the second American to hold the first place in the standings. Her last two victories came in 2017 and 2020.

In 2018, Lewis’s long sponsor, KPMG, made titles when the company chose to pay Lewis the full value of its contract while it was at maternity leave – an initial decision has since become more common.

Now 40, Lewis said she is looking forward to spending more time with her husband and retirement daughter.

“I will miss the Lpga Tour family and this part of my life, but my body has told me it is time,” she wrote. “My husband became a part of the team very convenient to provide smoothly a great balance and stability in my life. I look forward to our calendars to be more in sync and have more time as a family.”

Lewis’s pension announcement makes him the latest high -profile player to leave the game, joining Brittany Lincicome, Lexi Thompson and thus Yeon Ryu. You can read Lewis’s full statement here.
