Srixon Blacks Out Its ZXi Irons

Now that the launch season is over, it’s time for a new limited edition season to begin.

Srixon I’m starting things with him The Blackout Collection featuring its 2025 ZXi5 and ZXi7 irons in a limited edition black chrome. The rest of the pack features special Blackout soft goods that you’ll see Srixon employees using this weekend at the Genesis Invitational.

The limited edition black irons have become a standard move for OEM irons in a two-year sales cycle. The idea is to give sales a mean kick in the pants. The bars themselves are the same as the standard ZXi5 and ZXi7 bars, just with a Black Chrome finish.

Same stuff, darker vibes

Srixon’s ZXi Irons scored eight wins on the PGA Tour last year. The ZXi5 finished fifth overall in the MyGolfSpy 2025 Player Distance Iron Testing (only 0.2 points from the first) while the ZXi7 copped top honors (from a relative slide) in the player’s iron category.

With that kind of performance, you can certainly ask why the ZXi series would need a second year boost. Golf equipment, as you no doubt know, is all about what’s new and shiny, so any new twist can only help.

“The modern golfer is looking for more than just performance,” says Srixon Senior Product Manager Casey Schultz. “They want their equipment to also reflect their style and individuality.”

In this regard, the real news is Srixon’s Blackout Collection of soft goods. The collection features three bags, including a limited edition Srixon x Vessel Golf bag ($499.99). There’s also a blacked-out Srixon SC2 carrier bag ($279.99) and a blacked-out staff bag ($549.99) like the one Srixon employees will be using this weekend at Genesis.

Srixon Staff will also wear the limited-edition dark Tour hat ($34.99) and sport a limited-edition Srixon driver’s cap ($49.99).

Srixon ZXi Black Chrome Cuff: Price and Availability

Black chrome is considered a durable, high-quality finish in the same neighborhood as a higher physical vapor deposition (PVD) or diamond-like carbon (DLC) finish. Black chrome is an electroplated chrome finish that is a true metallic chrome finish that is stronger and more scratch resistant than standard chrome. It is used for gun barrels, automotive coatings, watches, tools and industrial components.

Yes, it will show some wear over time. No, it won’t end the first time you hit them.

The Srixon Black Chrome ZXi5 and ZXi7 irons will come with special Dynamic Gold MID 115 Tour Issue gun shafts and a Golf Pride MCC gray grip.

Both will retail for $1,599.99 for a seven-piece set. They will hit retail on March 3rd.
