Sri Lanka National Cricket Team has announced their XI for the first match of the three-match T20I series against West Indies. National Cricket Team. The match will be played on Sunday (October 13) at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla.
Pathum Nissanka will open the innings along with Kusal Mendis. This duo has been the main reason for the team’s success in the format. They have been in decent touch of late and will be looking to continue the golden form in the first game of the series against the West Indies.
Kusal Perera will bat at number 3 in the first T20I against West Indies. He batted aggressively but failed to score big for the team. The southpaw will be looking to make an impact in all three games of the series and get some runs under his belt.
Kamindu Mendis, who is going through a purple patch in his career, has been assigned the 4th place. He will man the middle order for the team in the first T20I against the West Indies National Cricket Team along with captain Charith Asalanka and the returning Bhanuka Rajapaksa.
Sri Lanka have named two spinners in their playing XI for the first T20I. Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana will handle the spin department. Matheesha Pathirana and Ashitha Fernando will be the team’s front two along with Chamindu Wickramasinghe.

Sri Lanka would also like to continue their good form against the West Indies National Cricket Team who have been in amazing touch in the T20I series as well. They whitewashed the South African National Cricket Team in the three-match T20I series in what promises to be an interesting series between the teams.

After the first match on October 13, the second match will be held on October 15, and the last match will be held on October 17. All three matches will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium.
Sri Lanka and West Indies will then play each other in a three-match ODI series. The first game will be held on October 20, and the second game on October 23. The last match of the 50-over format will be played on October 26. The Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, Kandy will host all three matches.
