South Africafast bowler Gerald Coetzee was ruled out of the second Test against Sri Lanka and against the upcoming all-format series PakistanIt is scheduled from December 10 to January 7. The 24-year-old suffered a groin injury during the first Test against the Islanders.

Coetzee had trouble bowling on the fourth day of the opening Test. After the scans, Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed right groin muscle strain. An expected recovery period of four to six weeks means Coetzee’s return to cricket will be delayed and the SA20 league is also under a cloud of uncertainty.
Coetzee of which a part Joburg Super Kings staff for SA20may miss the opening match against MI Cape Town On January 11. His absence has also been a serious blow to the franchise given his impressive form in recent outings.
