Deportivo La Coruña could be forced to sell Spanish sensation Yeremay Hernandez if Chelsea’s latest bid is accepted.

Sources with knowledge of the Blues’ transfer plans this winter understand the west London side have made an initial £8.5m bid to Deportivo La Coruña for the 22-year-old.

Chelsea want Ousmane Diomande with a rating of 80 million euros in this window, and Enzo Maresca asked about Alejandro Garnachoavailability too.

It’s clear that this transfer window could turn into a busy time for the Blues, with the revolving door at Stamford Bridge once again in full operation.

Deportivo are understood to have rejected Chelsea’s initial offer as they want to approach the player’s €20m release clause before they come to the negotiating table.

They also face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Aston Villa, with sources suggesting Serie A sides AC Milan, Como and Napoli will throw that hat into the ring before the season closes window

‘Unexpected’: The player returns to Chelsea and is expected to play a key role

Hernández has a contract with Deportivo until 2030, so the Galician side have no real need to sell at the moment.

His performances continue to attract attention, however, and the club may struggle to hold on to the player.

Yeremay Hernández has several clubs chasing him

Sources understand that both Arsenal and Aston Villa sent scouts to watch the games against CD Mirandes and Malaga, and were very impressed by what they saw.

The reports were therefore favourable, although these clubs will also need to move quickly if they want to land the player.

From Chelsea’s point of view, they want to add Hernandez to their squad this winter and then immediately loan him to Strasbourg for the rest of the season.

With less than two weeks to go before the window closes, an acceptable deal must be executed quickly.
