This is Keegan Bradley’s Ryder Cup year, whether he plays great golf or not. But what if it does play great golf during 2025? What then?
We’re stepping on that reality early in 2025, as Bradley sits just two shots off the lead with 18 holes to play in the Sony Open. The 38-year-old is was named captain of the US Ryder Cup team in September, but if he continues to play as well as he has in the last 18 months, he will surely find himself in the captain’s role.
Bradley got it right Saturday in Honolulu, shooting an eight-birdie 64 to move into contention. He trailed JJ Spaun by two entering the final day. A win would move Bradley into the top 12 in the current US Ryder Cup rankings, and you know what that means. Twelve players make up the team.

Bradley has repeatedly said that he will only play in Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black if he can automatically qualify for the team, which would require him to finish in the top 6. A win would push him to the no. 7 in the Official World Golf Ranking, a career high.
