Team India cricketer Smriti Mandhana moved closer to the top spot in both the white-ball format in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) women’s rankings released on Tuesday (December 17). Smriti Mandhana has given strong performances in recent games against Australia and West Indies. .
Smriti Mandhana scored 105 in India’s 0-3 whitewash in the ICC Women’s Championship series final against Australia in Perth. The left-handed batsman hit 54 off 33 balls with seven fours and two sixes against West Indies in a 49-run win on December 15.

Smriti Mandhana has climbed three spots to second in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings. She is currently only 39 rating points behind the top-ranked South African Laura Volward. The Indian opener scored his ninth ODI century against Australia in the final game in Perth.
Australia’s white ball stars have improved their rankings. Player of the series Annabel Sutherland has climbed 15 places to 29th among ODI batsmen. He also climbed four places for bowlers to 20th. Sutherland scored 122 runs and six wickets to rank 9th among all-rounders.
Tammy Beaumont climbed to 11th in the ODI batting rankings after scoring an unbeaten 65 to help England to a 2-1 series win over South Africa. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner and Tahlia McGrath made significant gains. Gardner moved up to 16th with 50 in Perth, while McGrath moved from 32 to 24.

Harmanpreet Kaur remains in the top 10, while Titas Sadhu has moved up to 52nd in the bowling rankings. For West Indies, Deandra Dottin rose 21 places to 59th, Qiana Joseph rose 22 places to 65th and Karishma Ramharack rose 6 places to 20th among the batsmen.
