Smith’s Summer Fight: Yarde or benavidez?

Callum Smith negotiates with Anthony Yarde and David Banavidez for a fight in the summer. The WBO tussentage light heavyweight champion Smith revealed that talks with the WBC and the WBA ‘ordinary’ champion benavidez are further.

Smith’s Summer Joyalty Options

If the fight is not fed, a collision against Yarde is a possibility for Callum. There is more for Smith (31-2, 22 COs) to benefit from benavidez, but it is a much harder struggle for him. If his promoter, Eddie Hearn, had any input on his decision, it would not be a surprise if he chooses the easier fight against Yarde, rather than blowing with ‘The Mexican Monster’.

The ring reports That Smith negotiates with Yarde for a summer fight. This battle is likely to be waged, leaving Benavidez high and dry. He is bad news for one of these British.

Smith is already in the cat bird seatwith the WBO-Tus-cent title of 175 pounds. He can sit and wait for an ultimate crack at the winner of the Dmitri Bivol- Against Artur Betterbiev Trilogy Match, which he will do. The chances are that the winner of that battle would fight Callum rather than in benavidez. Yarde is a gentle choice for Smith compared to benavidez. He will surely take a ‘Mexican monster’ over ‘the Mexican monster’ any day of the week.

Smith put himself in a position for a massive payday against the Bivol-Beterbiev 3 winner, and Hearn does not want him to destroy it by fighting him against Benavidez. As good as Smith is, he will be chopped by benavidez and sent in pension.

BANAVIDEZ: BIVOL’s Kryptonite?

Biblical is not crazy. He knows that Benavidez is Kryptonite for his defensive fighting style, and that he will chase him and end his government as the champion. Turki Alalshikh was able to set up as much re -broadcast as he wanted, but Bisvol will never beat Benavidez. Therefore, he will choose Callum Smith above him and never fight against him unless he has offered ridiculous money.

Yarde (27-3, 24 CO’s) has won his last four fights since being knocked out by the former IBF, WBC and the WBO lights heavyweight champion in the eighth round.

Callum comes from a grueling 12-round decision on Joshua Buatsi on February 22 in Riyadh. It was a difficult battle for Smith, 35, but he went through it with his strength and constant pressure against the worn Buatsi. Going from that fight directly into a war with benavidez would not be the smartest thing for callum to do.
