Indian National Cricket Team batsman Shreyas Iyer has come under the scanner for his poor batting in the ongoing match against Tamil Nadu Cricket Association XI in the Buchi Babu tournament. The match between the two teams is played at the Sri Ramakrishna College Cricket Ground.
Shreyas Iyer, who represented Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament, did not fare well against Tamil Nadu. The middle-order batsman struggled to get going in the first innings and then came under the scanner to be dismissed in the second innings.
As his woes continued, Iyer again came out to the short ball. He turned into a striker in the second innings as the fielder used his weakness against him. He tried to play a pull shot but was caught inside the circle. Iyer managed just 22 runs as Mumbai remained under pressure.

Iyer was unable to counter the short ball regardless of the format. The right-hander often turned out similarly. He was also heavily criticized for not tackling the short ball well, which was one of the main reasons behind his fall in the Indian National Cricket Team.

Iyer now wanted to make a big impact in Duleep Trophy 2024. He was included in the D team and will also captain the team in the tournament. Iyer would love to light the stage leading his team to victory and make a comeback in the Test team.
