The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.
The Dodgers hit three home runs in the 8-0 victory, including superstar Shohei Ohtani’s three-run shot in the eighth inning.
Ohtani has struggled a bit in his first MLB postseason, but he has a home run in each of his first two series so far.
Over the past four regular seasons, Ohtani has hit 178 home runs, and he now leads baseball with the impressive statistic.
“Shohei Ohtani has hit 23 home runs at 115+ MPH since the start of 2021, the most in the majors over that span,” says Sarah Langs via X’s MLB .

The two-way player hasn’t pitched at all in 2024, and that may have contributed to his uptick in offensive stats this season as the Dodgers DH.
His regular season stats include a .310 batting average with 54 home runs, 130 RBI and a 1.036 OPS.
Not only does he hit a lot of home runs, but he hits home runs very hard and far.
Ohtani came to the Dodgers after spending his first six MLB seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, who never made the playoffs while he was with the team.
It’s likely a bit of an adjustment for Ohtani in the 2024 playoffs as teams throw their best pitchers and pick and choose more matchups than they would in the regular season.
The Dodgers are looking to return to the World Series in 2020 for the first time since winning it, and Ohtani is doing his part so far.
