Shawn Porter Compare Shakur Stevenson with Floyd Mayweather Jr. After the sparring session

Shawn Porter says he watched Shakur Stevenson Spar and got away from the experience while dealing with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Saw Stevenson neutralizing the violation of his training partners.

Porter believes he believes that WBC lightweight champion Shakur (23-0, 11 COs) will close the violation of William Zepeda and show his ‘greatness’ in their fight at the 12th map at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

Porter’s Mayweather comparison

“We saw it with Floyd Mayweather. Some fighters have the ability to stop you from doing what you do, ‘says Shawn Porter to the Ring Magazine Youtube Channel, talk about being impressed by Shakur Stevenson neutralizing the violation of sparring partners.

Neutralizing sparring partners to throw push are not necessarily that Shakur Zepeda or any of the lightweights with high caliber, such as Andy Cruz. Porter did not mention the names of the sparring partners, nor did he say if Shakur was running around the ring.

“I’m not saying Shakur is Floyd Mayweather. He has many resemblance to Floyd. I saw it in the gym. I believe he will be able to do it to Zepeda. Just turn off completely what Zepeda does. Zepeda’s job is not to allow it. Easier said than done. ‘

Sparring: No Championship Metric

Shakur -predominant sparring partners prove nothing. If the fighters were world class, they would not work as helpers in the gym. Porter knows this, but it sounds like he works with Turki Alalshikh. Having a sparring partner is common for top fighters. Now it would be a different story if Shakur Zepeda, Andy Cruz or Floyd Schofield neutralize in sparring.

“Zepeda is young, and he is hungry. The guys I saw Floyd fight and turn off the guys, they were a little older than Zepeda. I expect Shakur to turn it off and show his greatness. ‘

We have all seen the poor opposition in the Ring for Floyd Mayweather Jr. To fight at the end of his career. Porter is therefore either ignorant of the low-level fighters who followed Floyd at the end of his record to break Rocky Marciano’s record of 49-0, or he is uneasy. He can’t be in the dark?

At the end of his career, Mayweather swung fighters who would probably beat him and destroyed his chances of breaking the Marciano record. Comparing Shakur to Mayweather does not make sense unless we consider it a false from the corner of Stevenson, and creates an artificial record to try to obtain a massive payday against Gervonta Davis.

Shakur’s weak resume

Beating Zepeda will not prove ‘greatness’ in Shakur. This will prove that he can beat a fighter who, according to many fans, has been beaten twice in a row against Tevin Farmer. Stevenson will have to do much more to live out Porter’s glass, because his resume at 135 is poor above words. He fought four times against lightweight against this lesser clump:

  • Josh Padley: The electrician was brought in by promoter Eddie Hearn as a substitute opponent. He was selected about the unbeaten Southpaw knockout artist Jadier Herrera (17-0, 15 COs).
  • Artem Harutyunyan: A light hit that fires a year and a loss to Frank Martin.
  • Edwin de Los Santos: The only good but far from big opponent Shakur has been fighting since the rise of up to 135.
  • Shuichiro Yoshino: A painfully sluggish, easy-to-hit contender that Shakur fought in his debut on lightweight.

Lightweight section kings

To prove that Shakur is wonderful, he will have to run the Gauntlet through these six fighters:

  1. Andy Cruz: The best fighter at 135
  2. Floyd Schofield
  3. Gevonta Davis
  4. Abdullah Mason
  5. Raymond Muratalla
  6. Herrera Cores
