“Sharam aani chahiye” – Ex-Pakistani cricketer blasts PCB for dropping Babar Azam

Former Pakistan cricketer Tanveer Ahmed slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for dropping Babar Azam from the team midway through the series. Tanveer feels that he should not have dumped Babar in this way and calls it a shame.

The newly elected PCB selection panel recently took a shocking decision to drop Babar, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah from the second and third Tests between Pakistan and England.

The move came as a huge shock and many former cricketers and pundits criticized the panel for dropping such an important Pakistani player. Babar is arguably Pakistan’s highest profile cricketer and has the largest fan following across the country.

Tanveer Ahmed blasted PCB for dropping Babar Azam

Like various cricket experts in Pakistan, Tanveer Ahmed was disappointed with the board’s decision to drop Babar Azam from the last two Tests against England. Tanvir turned to social media and expressed his displeasure with this decision.

“PCB should be ashamed of dropping Babar in the middle of a series. It shouldn’t have happened and it’s a shame,” Tanvir X (formerly Twitter) wrote on his page.

Former cricketers talk about Babar Azam not being released

Tanveer Ahmed has been a sharp critic of Pakistan cricket and has commented on various important aspects in the past as well. He also made abusive remarks against former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan also slammed the PCB for dropping Babar, calling the decision “Absolutely stupid”. Meanwhile, former Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar advised Babar to stay strong during this period of his life and encouraged him to work harder.

Babar’s teammate Fakhar Zaman also supported him and claimed that Babar should be supported as he is Pakistan’s main striker.

Bad form of Babar Azam

Babar is going through the worst phase of his cricketing career. The star batsman has not registered more than a fifty in his last 18 Test innings. In the last 18 innings in Tests, Babar scored 366 runs at an average of just 20.33 with a top score of 41.

Along with him, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah were also dropped from the squad for the second and third Tests against England. All three of them are perhaps the most high-profile cricketers in Pakistan, but have been in poor form, especially in red-ball cricket.

The next Test between Pakistan and England will be played in Multan on October 15-19. The third Test of the series will be played in Karachi from October 24-28.
