Shakur Stevenson took on social media today to boast his exceptional talent. WBC lightweight champion Shakur (24-0, 11 COs) believes that his recent victory over William Zepeda has proven on July 12 that he has joined the Elite class and that he deserves the status of pound-by-pound.
Stevenson says, “I’m really like this with this box,” meaning, “I’m in the elite class.”
Theofimo considers Shakur as food
The reality is that Shakur’s career may be about to beat the WBO lights of Welterweight Champion Theofimo (22-1, 13 COs). I have never seen thee look so motivated for a fight. He looks Wolfvis. You can say that he sees Stevenson as food.
The Newark, the Native Shakur in New Jersey, sounds like he’s trying to pump himself up before his potential fight against Theofimo Lopez in early 2026. As the fans do not praise Stevensons, he chooses to do so himself.
Fans’ response to Shakur’s boast:
- Against B and C-level opponents
- Go in the ring with someone good for once
- Prove that
- Keep quiet and prove it already
- Tank is your dad. “You want payday.”
- Draw the battle with theo. Stopping with downtime
- Why do you get Schofield sick?
- Bum
- You want to follow behind Crawford, but you don’t want to move like him.
Some of the fans were, among other things, tracks of Shakur dropped by Zepeda, and the referee, sleep on the wheel, Failure to call it a knockout. That missed call showed what Zepeda faced in that battle.

Zepeda made Shakur look human
People who saw Shakur’s fight against Zepeda (33-1, 27 COs) felt that he was a very average fighter, without power and depth to his game. All Stevenson did was kick the ropes and try the best to block the uninterrupted incoming blows of Zepeda.
The judges gave it to Stevenson with a wide 12-round decision, but you can make a strong argument that Zepeda has landed enough body shots to earn the victory or at least a draw.
