Shakur Stevenson’s ‘Big Names Only’ Dodge: Is the unbeaten Jadier Herrera too dangerous to loss a flashback?

Shakur Stevenson responded to the unbeaten #10-selected WBC contender Jadier Herrera (17-0, 15 COs) who called him last Saturday night and said he wanted to ‘Only the big names.“The WBC lightweight champion, Shakur, says they keep trying to direct me to the little children.”

One can see that Shakur is afraid to mix it with the mighty Southpaw Jadier Herrera because it would be a flashback for the last time he fought a Cuban in the 2016 Olympics, and that he was in his loss Robeisy ramirez.

Stevenson was rushed around the ring by Robisy and violated with a one -sided defeat. Then he cries like a baby and tries to make sense of how he lost. No tears.

Ducking Herrera?

Jadier Herrera is 22, the same age as Floyd SchofieldWho chose Shakur by hand and was eager to fight in Riyadh last month on February 22.

The only difference is that the 5’11 ” Herrera is much longer than the 5’7 ″ Schofield, a South Paw and bumps with much more power. The shots that hit Jadier Enriquez (21-4-2, 8 COs), with the past Saturday night at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool, would have put Stevenson in a lot of trouble.

Herrera waged war with Enriguez and punched him until the referee was forced to step in and stop the competition in the seventh round. At that point in battle, Enrique was bleeding and helpless.

Stevenson says he “never heard of this guy”, and talked about Jadier Herrera. Boxing fans, however, can say the same about Shakur’s recent opponent, Josh Padleya part -time fighter, who works as an electrician. Stevenson chose Padley (15-1, 4 food) above Herrera as his opponent for the Undercard of Artur Betterbiev against Dmitri Bivol 2 event. Padley was just as unknown to fans as Jadier, but without power and harmless.

Shakur says he just wants to fight against the big names, but his resume since he came up to the lightweight section in 2023 has been filled with obscure fighters that most fans are not familiar with.

Stevenson’s resume

– Josh Padley
– Artem Harutyunyan
– Edwin de Los Santos
– Shuichiro Yoshino

Jadier Herrera is #10 WBC, #14 IBF and #14 WBA. He is one of the biggest punchers in the lightweight division, and a serious threat to Shakur.

“I’ll kill you”

“Maybe the next fight is in Saudi Arabia. I’m ready for the people, ”Jadier Herrera said Box news. “My next opponent is maybe Shakur Stevenson. I don’t know. Send me the contract. I’m 100% ready. I have 14 knockouts (correction: 15 COs). I’m serious. Send me a contract. I beat and he (Shakur) just hits. He just wants to score points, but I beat to knock out, ”Herrera said of the difference between him and Shakur.

‘Send me the contract. I’m not here to play. I’m not baby. Send me a contract. I will kill you. Don’t play with me, ”says Jadier.
