Shakur Stevenson will take theofimo Lopez apart

Zab Judah predicts that Shakur Stevenson is going “dismantling ” Theofimo Lopez as he moved to 140 in early 2026 to fight him for his WBO lights Welterweight title.

The 47-year-old former five divisions world champion Judah says Shakur (24-0, 11 COs) is going “Break him up” In his still a fight against Lopez (22-1, 13 COs). It is still too early to know whether the fight will take place or not, as negotiations need to be negotiated.

Shakur does not have the kind of power that will enable him to do against William Zepeda against William Zepeda on July 12. He can’t do it against theofimo without taking some big shots. He was dropped by Zepeda in the third round in the third round, and he is not the same puncher as Lopez.

“You can’t beat what you can’t hit”

“He’s going to take him apart. With the style he owns, he will break up. You can’t beat what you can’t hit. That boy (Shakir) is nothing to go around with. He pulls away and hits you. I love him, ‘said Zab Judah to Millcity Boxingand predicts that Shakur Stevenson will defeat Theofimo Lopez.

Shakur hit a lot in his last three fights against these guys:

  • William Zepeda
  • Josh Padley
  • Artem Harutyunyan

“I think what they do is create a superhero machine and show the world that they are bigger than ordinary guys do. They break records and astronomical numbers and do so as a team. It’s great, ‘said Judah about Shakur and his friend Terence Crawford.

The part of the breaking records refers to Judah, 38, who becomes the undisputed champion in a third section, such as Crawford. However, the numbers for Bud’s fight against Canelo Alvarez were not astronomical, with 41 million viewers worldwide on Netflix.

They were far below the 108 million viewers of Jake Paul against Mike Tyson. Jake’s next battle against Gervonta Davis on November 14 is likely to bring more viewers on Netflix than the Canelo against Crawford match.

Shakur did it wrong. Fans on social media are not angry. They criticize him for considering his fighting style as ‘boring’, and they notice that he did not fight any elite opposition, as he moved to 135 in 2023.

Is it Shakur’s cash fight?

It was all safe by him and his promoters, who matched him against Josh Padley, Artem Harutyunyan, Shuichiro Yoshino and William Zepeda. There is no risk-taking by Shakur, and it is understandable why he is an underscore fighter. You can’t go with his fighting style and fight poor opposition.

Stevenson is trying to fight a fight against Theofimo Lopez on 140 for his WBO title. That match is seen as a cash for him, which goes to a big payday in a fight he probably won’t win.
