Sergio Mora reads the Top Rank-DAZN deal as more than a new distribution move. His view is that DAZN is becoming the place where too much boxing is going through now to ignore, and that shift has been building for several years rather than arriving overnight.
Asked for his reaction to the partnership, Mora didn’t talk about brands or short-term buzz. He went straight to the concentration of power. “We have the best promoters under one platform, and that’s Bob Arum, Golden Boy, Eddie Hearn, you know, Frank Warren,” Mora told Brunch Boxing. He added, “It just trickles down to the fans. The best are going to fight the best because there’s no more politics.”
This is the part worth lingering over. Arum, Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya have operated on opposite sides of the sport’s network lines for years. Mora points to a situation where those same names are now linked to the same platform.
He made that point even clearer when he said, “I just think the sky’s the limit in this sport, and I think DAZN has really become a global home of boxing in those seven, eight years.”
This is a stronger claim than the usual talk after a network deal. Mora argues that DAZN is no longer one player among many. In his view, it becomes the most important meeting point for major promoters, giving it more traction on what fights are made and how often those deals come together.
He did leave room for the outfielders. When asked about working with PBC, Mora said, “Oh, yeah. No, I definitely do,” before adding, “when you start co-promoting, you get the best of the best.”
His main point remains intact. Mora sees Top Rank joining DAZN as another sign that more of boxing’s business is being pulled into one place. If this continues, it doesn’t just affect matchmakers. It’s also starting to simplify where fans go to watch the biggest fights.
