Senna Agius is hoping to move up to MotoGP in 2027 but knows he will have to fight at the front in Moto2.
The 2027 MotoGP grid has been detailed in pre-season and the 2026 opening round at the Thai Grand Prix.
A number of MotoGP riders are said to remain in the premier class but switch manufacturers for the 2027 season. with reports that Pedro Acosta goes to Ducati, Francesco Bagnaia goes to ApriliaAnd George Martin goes to Yamaha.
However with the current report Equestrian marketIt seems that there is less room for riders to enter MotoGP Moto2 Room. Senna Agius is one of the riders who could miss the 2027 rider market.
Senna Agius knows that the action of MotoGP will not be ‘handed’ to him

However, the Australian rider knows he needs to be on the ‘points end’ for most of the 2026 Moto2 season to ensure his entry into the premier class.
Agius says staying at the front of Moto2 in 2026 will be tough as the middleweight championship is a ‘very tough category’.
Agius said, “For sure, but it all comes down to results. Nothing is given for nothing. So it’s all about results. Hopefully, there will be two places for the Moto2 guys.”
“We’ve seen them in MotoGP, they’ve been the best in the world for years. But with the new rules and the different riders in their careers, I believe Moto2 is the toughest category.
“Some people say it’s very difficult because we all have the same equipment and the competition is very tight. After the rule change and the tire change, it’s a tighter time gap than in Moto3, which is absurd.
“It’s a tough division and I just want to be there, but unless I’m in the final, there’s nothing to give me, so that’s our goal this year.”
