The first Marathon of Elonish McColgan ended at 2:24: 25, he led to the Scottish record, which used to keep the Stepan numbers in the Marathon, at 8:26:52.t. Place in general. After the race, he spoke about the experience.
How was that?
It is planned two years later. We intended to be here in 2023 and I didn’t make the starting line. Today I imagined that I was going down with that final mile, and when I passed a 25-mile indicator, even when I was dead, I told me. “Now you can see the finish line.” I know that there are many more work to do, and I have been confiscated very early today. I think there are much more air conditioning and longer answers in my future, but it’s a good step. I was a little disappointed how I felt through the middle. I felt quite rough, even through the first 10 km that surprised me. I hoped that it would be much smoother than that. Both of my quarters were confiscated after about 20 miles, and I thought I was a long way, but the crowd was just insane.

Just talk a little about the race. You went with leaders and then pull back. What do you think?
Yes it was a little too hot pace for me. I have installed a little hot and I paid its price to the end. It’s a big, great learning curve for me. The whole experience was simply incredible, but it was much tougher than I thought I would feel. I’m really proud to end today, it was a lot, very hard run. There is a lot to learn. There is a lot of work to be done, but the first marathon did and dusted, and I can call me a marathon. I entered so little camouflaged, but I was just desperate I was in the starting line and I didn’t want to make the same mistake again, then not to do. But, as I said, it was a really good learning experience. I know there is a lot more job to do.
What did you learn from it?
And it’s probably just that. Yes its ventilation. I’ve got a lot more. As I said, I got a little. A little bit down so I knew it would be tough right now. I think I have a lot to do with the patience of things. The interesting thing is that I know the course I have done and what I have unable to do. I know there’s more. But the biggest thing for me keeps my drinks on the ship not high and low and crashes, and it’s really good learning experience For the next one.

The heat was a challenge.
I’m used to trained in the heat, so it wasn’t a problem for me. Being Scotland, I would like it to be a few degrees cooler, but the weather was not in my mind at all. But if you look at the British to all athletes, I think everyone was a little farther where they wanted to be, maybe a little more influence than we thought.
How important is the Scottish record for you?
Yes I’m really proud of today. There is a few outline moments where I was not sure I would get it until the end, but the crowd was absolutely insane. We had Scottish flags around the course. Bags for a moment. So it was pretty cool. It is obvious that I am very fortunate for home community games, but it was like all the way. Charlie Murdre told me in advance, there are some parts of the road, and how you can not even hear. When I really struggled, the crowd just kept me going and going and going. I had no choice to stop or give up, because yes they made me happy all the way. Wise wise I’m a little disappointed. I think I’m able to run 2:20 sub-item and it’s my goal. It’s not bad for my first effort.

And what do you plan for summer?
To just become stronger I mean, I got a little prepared than I wanted, and I knew that the run and the volume of a kind should take me some time. So yes, I just gone much more training and I hope we will continue the autumn marathon. This really well walks the stone and I hope I can do better in my next major, maybe we will look into Berlin or Chicago during the year. I haven’t decided yet, but be honest, the ultimate goal is to try and the end of the year. 20 will be broken. That would be Great, great goal for me.
