Over the past two years, the only things that have stopped Scottie Scheffler A Louisville police officera supplementary caddy and a glass accident with wine while ravioli.
This is the list.
Rory Mcilroy, Xander Schauffle, Jon Rahm or any of the other golf stars are not in that short list.
Yes, Rory Mcilroy, World no. 2, won three times earlier this seasonincluding players and MastersBut that was when Scheffler was still returning from Ravioli’s injury. Scottie Scheffler who just prevailed in the field To win the 2025 open championship In Royal Portrush is another beast.
“I do,” said Mcilroy, who finished T7 in his open home, said Sunday when asked if he felt he was again in the form he enjoyed in the spring. “But I also had three victories when Scottie wasn’t enough in his game.”
Perceptive and sincere, as always.
It took Scheffler a little to get back in shape after the beer wound in hand. But he won the CJ BYRON Nelson Cup historically and dominated in the PGA Championship At its next start. He then defended his title in Memorial, and this week he rolled in northern Ireland and strangles the field in the oldest Golf Major.
Scheffler struck only three straight roads in the first round, but still managed to shoot three under. He hit the course with a seven under 64 on Friday to get the lead with 36 holes and then extended its lead to four with a 67 without Bogey on Saturday.
When Scheffler arrived at the Dunluse course in Royal Portrush on Sunday morning, his The fourth great championship and the third Grand Slam’s career foot was Fait Recit. Mcilroy was six strokes back. Matthew Fitzpatrick, who watched Scheffler calmly disconnected the course on Saturday, was five back. Hootong Li was the closest competitor to Scheffler, but his chances felt less than few. Scheffler entered the day after converting his last nine directions 54 holes. If he was to lose, it would take a Hercules attempt by one of the chassers AND He will need to help them.
Instead, Scheffler hit his access to the first on one foot for Birdie. He made birds at no. 3 and 4 and officially brought the wind out of the cruises of Chasers’ hope.

Xander Schauffle, World no. 3 who won two degrees last year, fired three under Sunday to end up in 10 under a tie for the seventh. He felt it. Just as the feeling of inevitable inevitability included the Quail Hollow club in the Championship PGA when Scheffler made a six -stroke victory, it also prevails Northern Ireland.
“I don’t think we thought the golf world would see someone as prevailing as Tiger to come so fast, and here’s a kind of scottie taking that throne of dominance,” Schauffe said. “You can’t even say he’s on the run. He’s just killing him for more than two years. He’s a tough man to beat, and when you see his name on the manager’s table, it suck for us.”
Scheffler made a dual non-characteristic noise in the eight par-4, but birds 9 and 12 to return to 17 under before putting it in control of navigation below the alignment.
Harris English, who ended up second at Scheffler in Quail Hollow, shot five under Sunday to grab his second big season race. This is a beautiful award, but English, which is projected to grow to No.8 in the world, understands how wide the breast is between Scheffler and the rest of the golf.
At this point, it is difficult to understand how it can be closed without scheffler return to the package.
“It is very extraordinary,” English told Scheffler. “Just how good is a precursor. He has improved his deployment. There is no statistic that he is bad. It is like, how do you beat this guy? But he works so hard, and I see him in the gym all the time, see him practicing. He is one of the hardest workers I have ever seen, and has more in the world.”
Fitzpatrick played with Scheffler on Saturday. He started the day a shot after the world no. 1 and it was five after the sun faded from the sky of northern Ireland. Scheffler was ruthless with the hit of his ball, and when he made the rare mistake, his holder released him on bail. At the beginning of last season, Putter was Scheffler’s Achilles’ heel. He passed into a commodity and started working with the famous placement coach Phil Kenyon, and the rest is a story.
Fitzpatrick, who also works with Kenyon, joked he was upset that the coach helped increase the only poor connection in Scheffler’s game.
“An annoying village,” Fitzpatrick said as he laughed on Sunday when Kenyon’s work grew with Scheffler. “So annoying.
“It was his weakness. He is great. He can’t knock his placement. He just looks good with a completely unexpected putter on, and now you fix his placement, it’s like, every week you want to win by this week.”
Fitzpatrick’s game was in the landfill a few months ago, but some work with coach Mark Blackburn has returned his access game. Top-10 ends up in the Championship PGA and the open championship have followed. The 29-year-old Fitzpatrick, a big champion in his right, feels like his world-class game is being rounded back in shape.
And yet, he knows that he is miles away from the boy who puts the bar – the boy who simply steamed golf again in a big championship.
“I think Scottie Scheffler is another class, obviously,” said Fitzpatrick. “He is literally a full shot probably better than the other best player in the world, let alone myself, who is not the second best player in the world.”
Rahm added: “Very few players have been able to do what he has done. He has won three degrees in three years. He won nine times last season, and he continues to continue. He is doing what everyone wants to do.”
In Quail Hollow, those who follow Scheffler describes his “Force of size” as something that revolves throughout the property when it is on the steering board. He is immune to the driver’s gravity because he rarely makes mistakes, and when he does so, he quickly removes and wipes them. When Scheffler’s name rises on the board, everyone feels it. They know the tremendous challenge that stands forward, and as his bullet extends, a sense of resignation begins to crawl.
As it ended best in the world on Sunday, what has been visible for two years became clear crystal: Has Scottie Scheffler and everyone else.
“None of us can depend with Scottie this week,” Mcilroy said. “He is an extraordinary player. He has been prevalent this week. Honestly, he has been prevalent for the last two years. He is a bar that we are all trying to reach. In a historical context, you can argue that there are only two or three players in the history of the game that have been in a run, the one who has been here for 24 to 36 months.
“He has been absolutely amazing for these last two to three years. As I said, all you can do is make your lid and look at admiration.”
How do you beat and ultimately eclipse someone whose shadow absorbs oxygen from a tour? This is what everyone has not called Scottie Scheffler is leaving the portrait to ask.
