During the second round of BMW Championship at Castle Pines Golf Club in Colorado, Scottie Scheffler proved that he really is like us. Well – at least when it comes down to it OUTLETS after a missed shot.

After opening with a par-9 35 (one under par on the day) on Friday, Scheffler hit his drive 367 yards on the par-4 10th hole. That left him 187 yards from the hole — a shot that required a water carry. Scheffler did not execute the shot he wanted and ended up wet.

No one likes to lose a ball in the water, so Scheffler was likely a little hot under the collar as he approached his fourth shot from the drop zone, about 100 yards from the hole. But when Scheffler ended up left of the green with his wedge, he erupted in frustration. You can watch a video of its explosion below.

“Isn’t that a slope?” Scheffler asked aloud, while his caddy, Ted Scotttook the bag and started walking without answering. Scheffler continued: “Seriously? How is that possible?”

Such statements are common among golf pros when a player hits a shot they are not happy with. But Scheffler continued to escalate from there.

A move by Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler that has a “very jealous” pro feel

“How? HOW?!” Scheffler shouted. “like is this possible How is that possible?”

It’s unclear whether Scheffler was talking to himself or his booth, but the scene was telling because it was an uncharacteristically fiery moment from the normally calm World No.1.

Scheffler’s next shot was set, high on the pin and about 23 feet from the hole. He made it a good run but ended up settling for a double-bogey tap-in, his worst score of the day. Frustrating, indeed.

Scheffler eventually finished with a second-round score of even-par 72 and is currently T29 and one under for the tournament, 12 shots behind leader Adam Scott. Fortunately for Scheffler, he is still projected to retain the top spot heading into next week’s East Lake Tour Championship.
