Scheffler digs open Morikawa results in Morikawa
In the second round of Friday at US Open, Scheffler, Morikawa and Hovland played together for the second day. Based on their experience in the opening round, all three stars knew the harsh and exhausting test that awaited them when they left no. 10 at 7:40 am et.
Scottie Scheffler’s viral war with the coach? Called ‘getting into my grill’
But despite having passed three more as a group, by the end of the day, the star’s trio would be reduced to laughter in response to a series of mistakes most often seen in your local muna than in pro golf tournaments.
In a quick interview with NBC after his third round, Scheffler gave the details.
“Since it is challenging, this golf course is difficult,” Scheffler began.
He then explained that in points separate in round 2 when Grind became particularly harsh, both Morikawa and Hovland accidentally walked through the Scheffler setting line, one of the most basic violations of playing on the game.
“You know Collin (Morikawa), Victor (Hovland) and I was laughing yesterday because there was a case yesterday where Collin kind went through my line, because he slammed to shred it over the green,” Scheffler explained. “Victor did the same hole before because he had played a small hockey.”
But it turns out that the price for the biggest mistake of the day in their group goes to Scheffler. As he admitted on Saturday, world No.1 wrote an inaccurate result on the Morikawa score card not once, but twice.
“I had confused some results on Colli’s card. So we are sitting there laughing scoring, like ‘are we doing there?” Maybe once or twice a year you confuse someone’s result, and I grabbed two of Collin yesterday, ”said a smiling scheffler.
“So it’s challenging in many different senses,” he continued.
It is a good thing that they noticed the mistakes, otherwise the rules would have been discussed and it is unlikely to have any of them laugh.
Scheffler and Hovland’s US Open Sunday Chansets
Labeling and laughing aside, all three players still have 18 holes to play in one of the most important events of the year. But all three are in slightly different situations like Sunday’s last round begins.
In eight during three rounds, Morikawa is out of it. Even Johnny Miller-Esque 63 would not win the open US trophy on Sunday.
Hovland, on the other hand, is one of the favorites going to round 4. In one under, he is one of the four players under the same time at this point and will begin the last round three shots from lead As he fights for his first great victory.
While Scheffler is five shots further in four, he thinks he still has a blow after discovering Saturday night.
“Overall, I still have a great chance to go tomorrow, so I’ll go hit some balls, rest and prepare for another quarrel tomorrow.”
