Stories about the death of MLB super agent Scott Boras last season were greatly exaggerated.
He recently orchestrated the biggest deal in professional sports history, helping Juan Soto sign a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.
Boras is always a fun interview and a master at creating hype for his prospects through the media.
He recently hinted at another big move for the Mets, even after the Soto deal.
SNY Mets shared on X from Boras’ recent press conference, where the agent said the Mets made it clear to him and his agency that they’re not limited to signing just one great player, noting that “they’re going to be very steady and tough commitment to acquiring the best talent.”

Even after landing Soto, the Mets still have plenty of money to spend as some of their big contracts are not up, such as those for Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer.
The big question mark right now is the status of Pete Alonso, who is still on the open market.
It’s unclear whether or not the Mets are serious about their first baseman, but he would be the first name fans think Boras is referring to with these comments.
The Mets can still start providing relief, and it’s clear that owner Steve Cohen will spare no expense in building a contender, so no contract given by the Mets should come as a surprise.
